Mission
The Wexford Food Family is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to growing the food industry in Co Wexford by helping to grow the business of our food producer members. We do this through intelligence, tools and trade focused promotion. Our aim is to help our members to increase sales, product quality and operational efficiency.
We are keen to acknowledge retailers, cafes, restaurants & hotels who go out of their way to support Wexford food producers and our Official Supporter of the Wexford Food Family programme gives you the opportunity to let your current and potential customers know that your business shares their passion for local foods, you make the effort to stock/buy local and that they can find locals foods/ingredients at your business.
How it works
As a food service outlet we look for you to be purchasing on a regular basis from at least 6 of our producers and as a retailer from at least 10 of our producers.
We will look to review this on an annual basis by asking you to confirm from our list of members who you purchase from, either directly or through a distributor. This will then be confirmed with the producer and you will become an Official Supporter.
Goals
Annual Eat Wexford plaques will be awarded to all Official Supporters for display on their premises. Eat Wexford maps are printed which details all our food producers as well as all Official Supporters, these maps are distributed throughout the county in hotels, bars, restaurants, tourist attractions and public buildings. We aim to continually update these maps for distribution so that they are always up to date.
Benefits
As an Official Supporter you will be presented with our smart plaques to display where your customers can clearly see it.
Your business will be listed on the Wexford Food Family website and mentioned on the Eat Wexford Facebook page.
You will be listed in the Eat Wexford brochure with the option to have your logo and details included (at a small cost)
You will also get to use the Official Supporters Eat Wexford logo – we recommend listing local producers on your menu along with the logo. It can also be used on your media advertising and social media.
We encourage everyone to support these businesses, as you are working hard to support others. It makes a huge difference to our local economy, not to mention giving visitors as well as residents the very best experience of Wexford.
