Ballyhack Smokehouse is a family run artisan smokehouse located in the small seaside village of Arthurstown, Co. Wexford. Whilst we do various different products our cold smoked salmon is most popular. We come from a long tradition of salmon fishing and we are committed to smoking our salmon in an artisan fashion. An elderly man across the river gave us our first smoker which was used to smoke fish as far back as the 1960’s. With a little work we are proud to say this smoker is still producing multi award winning smoked salmon today. Whilst have done a lot of work this year upgrading our production facilities, rebranding as well as building a retail outlet at our premises, our principles remain the same. Our salmon is slowly smoked using beech-wood chips (which produces a light, gentle smoke) for up to 48 hours. Great taste takes time! Our method is traditional and everything here is done on taste and good judgement. You will enjoy that feeling of tradition and luxury when you taste our smoked salmon.
