Based near the picturesque village of Ballygarrett, Macamore Buffalo is one of only three Buffalo farms in Ireland. This family run, fourth generation farm specialises in producing the unique and pure taste of Buffalo meat. The farm is managed by Liam & Sinead Byrne. The name Macamore Buffalo comes from the type of soil that is unique to this part of Wexford, and is known locally as “The Macamores”.
The nutritional and health benefit of eating Water buffalo meat really impressed the Byrnes and they decided to import heard with a view to bringing this unique offering to the Irish consumer. Buffalo meat is high in protein & iron whilst being low in fat and cholesterol.
Also, the animals require no dosing or veterinary intervention and are of a lovely temperament. So, with an emphasis on producing a healthy and pure meat product, in January 2016, Macamore Buffalo was born.
Macamore Buffalo offers the full range of all your favourite meat cuts. From hearty sage and onion dinner sausages to their famous 6oz “nothing but the meat” burgers. They also provide T-bone steaks, ground mince, steak pieces, sirloin, striploin, rib eye and fillet steak.
